Beak face is painted on a papier maché surface. So the whole painting has been made from start to finish and the frame itself becomes a part of the piece. I really enjoy painting on these surfaces as they have a unique texture and changes the dynamics of the painting process. Beak face itself came from a name my cousin used for me to describe a face I pulled when I was carrying something heavy. Much to the amusement of our friends the name stuck for quite some time, but it did beat the previous name.
