Contemporary figurative enamel on glass and acrylic paintings with Art Deco and Pop Art influences plus bespokeart featured furniture.Esbe's work is mainly figurative. It is influenced by the delicate draughtsmanship of the Art Deco era and the vibrant colours of Pop Art. Every image begins with a line drawing, the curves and flow being the most important source of the idea. Esbe particularly inspired by faces and the human form in fluid motion, trying to pare down each element and feature to the bare minimum necessary to convey a mood or attitude. Bringing these lines to life with colour gives her a thrill – finding the right combination, sometimes vibrant, sometimes subtle.
Esbe produces original paintings, usually paired with a glass piece, and have just begun to combine painting and glass to produce three-dimensional wall-hung work. She began experimenting with the glass medium a few years ago and have settled on a vocabulary of techniques including deep engraving and water-jet cutting, silver and gold enamel, and printing. Her most recent project has been to design and commission glass featured furniture which was displayed at the prestigious Decorex International Exhibition in September
Work has also been exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair, Hampstead and Battersea, and Esbe sells at several other central London fairs and at the popular Windsor and Reading art fairs.
