If you would like further information on Katharine's work or
to discuss a project commission involving Katharine
Katharine is a freehand portrait and wildlife artist, living in Ashdown Forest, East Sussex.
She has been drawing for over 24 years, having done her first paid commission when she was 15. Katharine completed a diploma foundation art course at Hastings College of Art and Technology, before pursuing a career in property law, all the while taking paid commissions alongside. Since having her two children, she has given up her law career and is now a full-time professional artist.
Although Katherine paints her first love is drawing, especially Graphite drawing, which she honed her skill over many years. Not a day goes by when she doesn’t have the urge to draw. Drawing is her passion, especially portraiture.
There is nothing more challenging for an artist to not only capture the likeness of their subject, but their nature and character, and that is what I strive to achieve in all my portraits.
Besides commissions and wildlife, Katharine is a successful illustrator. In 2015 she won The Rethink Your Mind national competition, where her drawing ‘Owen and Molly’ was chosen to be published in a book distributed nationwide as an aid to those suffering from mental illness. Katharine accepted this prestigious award from Lord Patel at the House of Lords.
