Acrylic on handmade paper from Moulin de Larroque
Part of the Visible, Invisible, Veiled Series
Whilst working on a painting, broken grids appeared unexpectedly. I wrote in my journal:
‘And there is also the thought that the grids represent a veil - allowing glimpses beneath, whilst also distorting and hiding, shading, holding back. Is this something to do with the spirit - which is unseen and yet it’s presence is felt, known, acknowledged and simultaneously hidden from view?’
I wanted to explore and experiment, so I am walking in the woods, photographing broken grids wherever I find them, painting, writing and reading.
Most of all they celebrate life, spirit, and nature - in particular trees, forests, the sun and moon.
